THINKING OF: AUTUMN IN VOGUE

posted on: Monday, October 7, 2013

I have had these editorials on my mind lately the black&white in the latest issue of Vogue Paris and the one featuring Daria on in Vogue US September issue.
Right spot on when it comes to how to sport these seasons knits and layers, all mixed up with a note of grunge that you know I hold very dear to my heart. While it often has been about mixing traditional hard materials with organza, tulle and chiffon I love the layering of solids that is more central here giving a masculine touch to the feminine cut.

MAD FOR PLAID, OBVIOUSLY...

posted on: Sunday, October 6, 2013

So, tartan and plaid you say...Well as WWW put it nicely 'If you are not wearing plaid this season what are you wearing??' Joke aside, I think that madness about plaid going on right now is due to general lack of it in the past, or at least the vast selection of different patterns. And lets be honest when the cold wind starts to blow, and the rain showers kick in who doesn't want to be wrapped in beautiful, soft knit with a print that evokes a certain feeling of autumn cozy?
Sometime ago I opened my eyes to the new brand called O'2nd currently sold exclusively on My-wardrobe and found this ultra too-cool-for-school sweater. I have been meaning to show it  to you for quite some time and well, here it is. I love the royal blue and a different take on traditional tartan patter, I love even more how well it goes if you are in the mood for layering plaid on plaid, which I most definitely am...

VALENTINO SS14

All photo by me

Another beautiful show from Paris, the always very highly anticipated Valentino, has sent some very ornate pieces down the runway, some of them on the border of couture. This wasn't a humble or subtle collection, it spoke clearly about where the designers drew the inspiration from - mythology- this time around.
Imagine the fringed cape on the first picture thrown over a white shirt and bleached boyfriend jeans, or a white T with some of those colorful embroided skirts and a pair of black or nude flats...
Now, Ethnic and 'pagan' isn't usually something that I would go for, but there was quite a few pieces I would easily see in my closet.

A wonderful collection where Chiurri and Piccioli show of their artisan skills and in the same time widen the range of who the Valentino women is.
And in the era where many houses seem to go downhill with, that is a good thing buisness-wise.

VERY FRENCH

When in France, wear oversized blazers, leather skirts and delicate lace. And put a oversized white T over it to balance all the feminine. All together preferably.
And enjoy a french burger or a crepes with jam and eat pastries.
That's what I have done, the whole week. The outfit I wore on Valentino show, probably one of my all time favorites.

I am wearing vintage Valentino blazer, white T from ACNE, Zara skirt, by Malene Birger top worn as a slip and Aquazzura heels.Me and my Saint Laurent are inseparable.

GOOD BYE PARIS!

Au revoir Paris! You have been so, so good to me!I am celebrating the end of the fashion month with some wine and a good dinner in the complitely non-fashionable but very cozy part of Paris. In that event today I am just going to post this amazing detail shot of what I wore some days ago- the infamous Dries Van Noten fringe skirt paired with Celine mules and a varsity jacket.  I will follow up with the full outfit as soon as I get the time to edit it ;)

A big Thank u to all of the streetstyle photographers, designers and brands that made this month unforgetable!

STELLA MCCARTNEY SS14

Very pretty and feminine from Stella McCartney this time around( I would have had better pics if I didn't spent first 5 min of the show arguing with security and than lost my spot...)

Anyhow, there was lace as only Stella knows how to do, the men's jackets that felt almost unconstructed and bonded silk with floral and reptile prints.
So, not what I expected, but all in all pretty collection, masterly done and over all very wearable.
Did it make my heart stop? Not really, bit those pretty camisoles and cropped jackets are definitely something I can see myself in next season around. Btw,I loved Saskia in that floral suit, and the mix of pretty florals with her quite masculine look!

What did you think my dear readers?

SO, I have been little absent from blog recently however very, very hectic fashion week is to blame. I have to say that Paris has been treating me amazing. We have the cutest little room on the top of La Pradey overlooking parisian rooftops and Jardin des Tuileries. It was quite an experience waking up in all white room this morning with the first rays of sun reaching out throughout the curtains, so that just seconds after rain started pouring.
Anyhow, back to my outfit. I got this Suno shirt from My-wardrobe on Friday and it has been love at first sight.I love the mix of masculine stripes and delicate embroidery, I like even more how well colors are put together and how the fit is as perfect as a women's shirt can get. I also love it's versatility and how well it goes with something so unthinkable as the varsity jacket (that I got here and it is on sale;)And not to mention the leather pants on top of it. If I had to choose my favoruite fashion week outfit, this would be it. A perfect mix of everything for my part.

I am wearing American College jacket (here), Suno shirt, by Malene Birger leather pants, Saint Laurent heels, Marc Jacobs bag, Georg Jensen watch and Cooee bracelet.
