CHANEL COUTURE

So....I frankly thought it was ingenious! Every couture presentation, Chanel drops something that creates something like fashion/media turmoil (do you remember those rings last time around?- that is the first thing I will buy when I land in Paris), and now sneakers- sent down couture runway.
Pure ingenious. Now, we all might argue weather the sneaker itself is a garment that fits into the traditional picture of what couture should be, but in terms of bringing couture to the younger audience,  both as inspiration and something to crave for next season, it was ingenious.
And you know you want this cuteness on your feet, I mean sneakers that involve glitter and rainbow colors are never, ever a bad thing.
And that is what I  love about Chanel Couture, the fact that they are thinking about what a modern girl wants to wear nowadays. The collection feels fresh and forward thinking, and to be frank, few brands apart (Margiela for example), couture has become a synonym with pretty, embelished, cakey dresses worn on the special occasions. The artisanship is unquestionable but we have all seen it before.Billions of times.
Skrew that. I am bored.

  1. Amen!!! I so agree that they attract a different public with this collection! And personally I didn't like the sneakers so much (sorry Karl) but the dresses were amazing! And yes, we saw the pretty cakey dresses a billion times before but I think the collection of Elie Saab and Valentino and Zuhair Murad and Dolce&Gabban was also stunning :p xxx

  9. Though I'm not a fan of trainers and I'm not sold to the trend (yet), mixing a street trend with high fashion especially couture I agree is ingenious. It's definitely a great strategy to make chanel appeal to the younger crowd. Fashion is fast evolving and people like 'Karl the Great' are really helping the movement, following the legacy of coco chanel herself who will forever be remembered in history as pioneer in taking the industry to the next level.

  10. I was seriously skeptic on purchasing an expensive dress online, however for the price I was left with no option. However the dress was spot on. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever saw.
