The first pics of SS13 ad's are starting to pop up here and there, and for the moment Givenchy is on top of my list. One of the reasons is that what I perceived as a rigorous collection, was unexpectedly softened by this ad. I am loving the fact that Mariacarla is still 'kicking butt' and the fact that this is her baby evokes a certain warmth to the always strong Gienchy ad.
One of my favorite brands.

I fully agree with your opinions - the ad definitely has a soft earthy side not present in the collection. Mariacarla is spectacular in this campaign - she naturally possesses softness and fragility in her look that comes through here, especially with the baby.

It is, it really makes you see the brand in slightly different light.
DeleteStrong and gentle at the same time, great ad
ReplyDeleteLove this, it's eyecatching and unexpected. In other words, it's awesome!

Reminiscent of the Tom Ford Gucci FW 2003 campaign, still refreshing though. And Maria Carla shines, after all these years, she's still working, bravo!

I do agree. I love seeing MariaCarla, I am hoping to see much more of her from now on.
DeleteFunny story Irina..I lived in Harlem a few years ago, I had just moved in to this gorgeous brownstone.. As I fumbled for my keys at the doorstep, this striking young lady opened the door for me and greeted me with the biggest smile ever.. ofcourse I was confused since I grew up to mind my own business and stay away from strangers..I looked at her, knowing she looked so familiar, and she said to me "welcome to the building, if you need anything please knock on my door, I live below you.. " with an apprehensive smile I said thanks and moved on quickly. The next day I opened up my mailbox and there was a ton of mail that was incorrectly placed there, when I look at the envelopes the name on it read "Ms. MariaCarla Boscono." I said OMG. A few days after that I knocked on her door but I learned she had left for Milano with her bf..didn't see her again :-(
